Archbishop Dermot Ryan

Born in Dublin, Ryan was ordained a Priest in 1950. He succeeded to the See of Dublin in 1972, following the thirty - two year term of John Charles McQuaid, Archbishop Ryan was seen as a liberal reformer. Archbishop Ryan died in Rome in February 1985.
