James Alexander

James Alexander is a visual effects producer. As a kid, he was drawn especially to special and visual effects from the violence of ED-209 in RoboCop (1987) to the battle of Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and the creature transformation in An American Werewolf in London (1981). He studied film at university, and his first professional job in the industry was as a runner at The Mill in London in 2001, shortly after the studio had won the VFX Oscar for Gladiator.  At The Mill, he gained early producing experience working on music videos and commercials. Over time, he moved up through roles including dispatch, traffic, and scheduling. Alexander later joined Framestore — initially in London and subsequently in Los Angeles. Over the years, he has served as a CG line producer or visual effects producer on a variety of high-profile feature films and visual effects projects. For example, he is credited as "visual effects line producer (title sequence)" on Skyfall (2012). In television, Alexander was one of the visual effects producers on WandaVision (2021), earning a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Season or a Movie. He then served as the visual effects producer on The Marvels (2023).
