Overview: Set in a fictional South American country, the telenovela was based on the true story of Saint Martin de Porres, born in Peru and canonized in 1962. In the plot, the Dominican friar faces strong religious persecution, but resists and remains in the country to help the faithful. Rosamaria Murtinho played Isabel, a lieutenant in a female militia who believed that religion was a danger to the regime.
