Overview: Danish documentary series from 2026. Who are you when you suddenly no longer have your family and friends around you? When the culture is completely different. And you don't understand or speak the local language? Cornelius, Annabell, Bertram, Frida and Alberte set off alone into the world as exchange students. For a whole year, they'll be far away from both family and friends. In Japan, Brazil, Argentina, Italy and the USA, young people are grappling with loneliness, new languages, new cultures and the challenge of fitting in. New friendships, relationships and perhaps even a crush are blossoming. Is the hardest part actually leaving home – or coming back again?
