Content: Polish television play adaptation of the first of Fyodor Dostoevsky's great novels, in which reflections on the commandment "thou shalt not kill" are shown through the fate of a poor student Raskolnikov. Giving himself the right to commit a justified crime, he kills with an ax an old usurer, whom he despises and considers to be the cause of all human evil.
