Content: The businessman, actor, and journalist Florentino Iglesias had worked as a film exhibitor in the provinces and as an entertainment reporter for several Lima newspapers. During the second half of the 1930s, he served as a film critic for the newspaper Universal and was an important figure at Cadelp, the publishing company that produced that newspaper and a newsreel in which Iglesias also participated. The Last Tear was Iglesias's first film experience, and he only managed to make one other feature film after that, Destiny Commands (1938).
