Content: The director reworks Dreyer’s La Passion de Jeanne d’Arc, isolating the fragments in which Artaud appears and adding intertitles that reproduce the debates of the Surrealist assembly of November 23, 1926, the meeting in which he was expelled from the group. Artaud emerges as a martyr, while André Breton and his circle become his “fundamentalist executors” (Javier H. Estrada).
