Content: On the eve of his wedding, patriot Jerzy Mirski undertakes a daring mission to steal vital military documents from the Russian headquarters, but is gravely wounded and finds refuge at his beloved Hanka’s estate. Pursued relentlessly by a Cossack patrol, he refuses to reveal the documents’ hiding place even at the cost of his own life.
